Sugar Cadavers - Performance Art:

Live Painting

Michelle V. Smith is a multimedia artist who creates live art under the pseudonym Sugar Cadavers.

Her live painting performances utilize UV reactive paint, black lights and shadowplay to create eclectic, high impact and constantly  evolving surrealist compositions that uniquely encapsulate and blend together the energy of the crowd and musical acts in a truly dreamy fashion. Acting as a conduit between the audience and performers, she seeks to channel an amalgamation of interior and exterior forces and present them as a visually pleasing, organic, psychedelic form.

Pictured below is a collection of snippets from a variety of live painting performances, pop ups and interactive installations at festivals, warehouses, clubs, dive barsm basements, backyards, living rooms, lush woodlands and sprawling desert. Collaborations are often and encouraged in this expressive, playful large scale medium - both amongst fellow visual artists as well as musicians and other interdisciplinary creators. If you're interested in collaborating on a project please send me an email!
